7 Days Calving Season Migration safari (December - March)
This 7-day safari takes you to the heart of the Great Migration during the calving season in the Ndutu region of Southern Serengeti. This is the best time to witness thousands of wildebeest giving birth, attracting predators such as lions and cheetahs. The safari includes an immersive experience in Ndutu, Central Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater, offering breathtaking wildlife encounters.
Activities Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Transfer to Arusha
Distance: 50 km | Time: 1 hour drive
- • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
- • Meet your safari guide and transfer to Arusha for an overnight stay.
- • Rest and prepare for the adventure ahead. On this day, if time allows, you will have a short briefing about your safari, otherwise, this will take place the following day before you depart for your safari.
- • Enjoy dinner at the hotel in Arusha at Arusha Safari Lodge – on Half Board (Dinner & Breakfast)
Day 2: Drive from Arusha to Ndutu Area – Game Drive
Time: 5.20 hours (including en-route game drive)
- • Early morning departure from Arusha, driving through Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
- • Scenic stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint.
- • Arrive in Ndutu and begin your game drive.
- • Witness herds of wildebeest, zebras, and other herbivores grazing in the vast plains.
- • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your game drive.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Ndutu Area

- • Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue game viewing in different areas of Ndutu.

- • Enjoy a game drive in the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera, home to the Big Five.
- • Spot black rhinos, elephants, and hippos in the crater floor.
- • Have a picnic lunch near a scenic hippo pool.
- • Ascend the crater and drive back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
